Overview

The ability to place a peripheral intravenous catheter into a patient with no visible or palpable veins is a game changer.  Ultrasound is the answer, but gaining the skill takes time.  This course combines essential knowledge acquisition through an online component with a fun and practical hands-on course.  No prior ultrasound knowledge is required, but candidates should be competent at standard PIVC placement.

There is a certificate of completion once you’ve completed the modules.  Follow this online course with a face-to-face workshop in the SCGH Simulation Centre with small group practical sessions run by expert tutors.

Please note that the online component is compulsory prior to registration for the practical component.

How to Enrol

Complete the online modules and download your certificate of completion.

Register your interest in the face-to-face sessions by completing the Google Form below. You will be added to our mailing list of eligible participants.

We will email you when sessions become available and open a limited number of spots. You can then register for a spot by completing the registration form and paying the $50 fee.

Time:                    1730-2100hrs on a Tuesday evening, monthly

Cost:                     $50 to be paid at time of booking an in-person workshop time
