Education

 

As you may have already seen, there's heaps happening in the way if education at SCGH this year. We're looking for people who want to be a part of it!

We are seeking 3 subcommittee members to help out.

SHARE Tutorial Coordinators (2 positions):
These subcommittee members will be in charge of scheduling and maintaining the SHARE tutorials recently implemented at SCGH. These tutorials allow JMOs an opportunity to develop their teaching and communication skills by presenting to medical students.

Education Communication Coordinator (1 position): This subcommittee member will help to develop the JMO newsletter to communicate all the good things we are doing at SCGH to the JMO body. They will also help in selecting the JMO of the term.

 

International Medical Graduate Representative

 

Hey guys, reason behind a subcommittee for the IMGs:

-To share the love and work-load. I honestly wished I could be everywhere at the same time but I really need a subcommittee so that I don't have to rely on the other RMO society members. Also, to have more brain power to promote support, safer environment for the IMGS/ interstate and make them happy doctors.

2 positions available:

Event organiser (1 Position):
Creating events for the IMGs for every term and making them feel welcome.

Education/IT/pdf (1 Position):
Closely involved with Patti to create word document/PDF for the IMGs such as useful IT tips/ wellbeing/ visa/ PR.

Also, we will all be working together as a team.

Charlies 2021 Cocktail

 

Charlie’s 2021 Cocktail 

We are excited to be organising the 2021 Charlie’s Cocktail, following the massive success of last year’s event! This end-of-year celebratory event will be aimed at all NMHS doctors, nursing and allied health staff. We are looking for a group of motivated JMOs to join the sub-comm and bring this event to life! 

Important info: 
- Looking for 3-5 sub-comm members
- Expected average time commitment of 0.5 hours per week, in months prior to event 
- Date of the event: Saturday 13 November 2021
- Event coordinator: Angela Burvill

Promotions (1-2 people) 

Helping to decide on a theme, design posters, arrange online ticket sales and promote the event. 

Logistics (1-2 people)

Organising music, photographers, speeches, decorations and food and drink options for the night.  

Liaison and Sponsorship (1 person) 

Contacting potential sponsors for the event and liaising with other faculties (such as SCGH Allied Health Reps) to gauge interest in and promote the event. 

 

Women in Medicine Symposium

 

Women in medicine symposium subcommittee!

Every year CRMOS hosts an inspirational afternoon with speakers from all specialties sparing their journeys to consultanthood with a focus on women in the work place.

Our venue 2 years ago was fabulous and we're gonna make it even bigger this year after being forced to be put on hold for last year!

We are looking to work with 3 people, for approximately 1 hour a week for a term or so.

 

Doctor’s Common Room

 

DCR is looking for two positions:

Renovations (1 Position)
This individual would be in charge of developing a plan for ongoing community engagement, and be involved with the refurbishment of the DCR this year. Time commitment of approx 2 hours a week.

Amenities (1 Position)
This person would assist with simple things like making sure the DCR is stocked, and input with sourcing further food items ect. Approx 1 hour a week.
